THE HANDBOOK OF APPLIED EXPERT SYSTEM
Author: Jay Liebowitz
Publisher: CRC Press
Publication Date: 1 edition-December 29, 1997
ISBN-10: 0849331064
The author of the book, is Jay Liebowitz, DSc (Systems Analysis and Management, George Washington University), who joined the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School in 2003. He is a Professor of Practice, author, and consultant known around the world for his work in the field, with expertise in the areas of knowledge management, expert and intelligent systems, and competitive intelligence. Honors and Distinctions of Jay Liebowitz are: Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Expert Systems with Applications: An International Journal, Associate Editor, International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies, Inderscience, NASA Special Achievement Award, HQ/Office of Safety and Mission Assurance, June 2002, Fulbright Scholar, Canada, Concordia University, Center for Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence, Summer 1999, Fulbright Scholar, Finland, October 1999.
The Handbook of Applied Expert Systems is a landmark work dedicated solely to this rapidly advancing area of study. This authoritative source covers the latest expert system technologies, applications, methodologies, and practices. The book features contributions from more than 40 of the world's foremost expert systems authorities in industry, government, and academia.
The Handbook is organized into two major sections. The first section explains expert systems technologies while the second section focuses on applied examples in a wide variety of industries. Key topics covered include fuzzy systems, genetic algorithm development, machine learning, knowledge representation, and much more.
Each section provides historical background and data to indicate the various approaches that have been made to the particular problem domain along with a few detailed discussions of specific real-world applications. With this knowledge, the software designer can make informed decisions on the best approach for the problem domain they are tasked to automate. This is the pattern book for expert systems design to help determine whether the best approach be neural networks, rule-based, case-based.
No expert system designer can afford to ignore this book’s accessible summaries in their application space.

2. ARHITECTURA ȘI CARACTERISTICILE SISTEMELOR EXPERT ȊN CONTABILITATE
Abstract: The Expert Systems are programs that emulate the decision-making ability of an human expert. The applications find their way into most areas of knowledge work. They are involved with all this components, as their architecture: the knowledge acquisition system, the knowledge base of facts, rules, heuristics, the inference engine, user interface.
Keywords: expert system, architecture, the knowledge acquisition system, applicability of expert systems, characteristics of an expert system.
2.1 INTRODUCERE
