The fossil fuels are soon depleting and alternative energies will be the ways that people will be living in the near future.
In the recent years there have been a vast majority of technological advancements. These advancements have proven to be extremely beneficial to the conservation of our world's natural resources, as well as the protection of our planet.
Researchers and societies are searching for alternative energy methods (renewable energy or carbon-free energy) to replace fossil fuels. But passing from one method to another will be very costly and a very difficult thing to do, since our entire energy infrastructures and economy is based on fossil fuels.
Renewable resources are a natural form of energy that can be regenerated.
There are different types of renewable energy. Some of the renewable energies are solar energy, wind energy, tidal and ocean energy, geothermal energy, hydroelectric energy, biomass energy(bio energy) and the power obtained from hydrogen.
Among all these renewable energies, solar energy is considered to be the leading one.
Sunlight(sun’s radiation) is absorbed by photovoltaic cells. The solar energy can be used for heating and lighting homes and other buildings, for generating electricity, and for hot water heating, solar cooling, and a variety of commercial and industrial uses.
Solar energy is lauded as an inexhaustible fuel source that is pollution and often noise free. Solar energy doesn't work at night without a storage device such as a battery, and cloudy weather can make the technology unreliable during the day.
Wind energy
Wind energy is the second biggest renewable energy, and it is the conversion of wind energy into a useful form of energy. Most of the wind mills(turbines) are established in particularly windy spots , offshore as if the wind currents are formed in the areas of sea shore.
Wind energy costs about the same as electricity from new coal- and gas-fired power plants. And it's pollution-free.
It is predicted that if this pace of growth continues, by 2050 the answer to one third of the world's electricity needs will be found blowing in the wind.
