1. BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

1.1 History of the company

The Rebels Group Company was created in 26 November 1999, in Brasov by Mister Ovidiu Guiu and his wife, Mrs Gina Guiu. It started out as a family business and slowly it grew. It started from scratch, and all the materials and other contributions needed in order to start the business were brought in by the 2 owners. The reason that Mr. Ovidiu Guiu had in order to start such a firm is that he graduated the TCM (Tehnologia constructiilor de masini), so he had some knowledge about this domain. And what is this firm doing?

Practically, it helps other firms that use the welding process in their technological flow. Also, Rebels Group is also distributing welding equipment and other adjacent devices ( for example, for cutting). In 1999, when it started, Rebels started out as a business that was offering cutting and welding products. Clients were bringing their objects in the first years, but after a couple of years, Rebels was offering transport services. Slowly, the business grew and the company had to settle different collaboration contracts with other companies that were in this domain because they needed assistance for their equipment.

1.2 Current Business

As mentioned above, Rebels Grup is offering solutions for companies that use the welding or cutting process in their technological flow. The main activity is the selling of equipment used in these domains.

Also , Rebels group is offering technical assistance, support and service for the equipments they sell.

A few years ago, since they had such a strong development in the past, they imposed a time limit for the repairing of devices that clients brought. For example, if your welding machine has broken (and of course, you bought it from the Rebels Grup), you just bring the machine to the headquarters and their employees fix your welding machine in less than 24 hours. This is actually and indicator used to show the high-quality level of their services.

Since 2009, they have a distribution network in the whole country. Also, they have established dealerships in several cities in Romania, such as Alba Iulia and of course, Brasov. In addition, they have branches in Brasov, Bucuresti, Galati and Alba Iulia.

1.3 Services

Here is what Rebels-Grup’s technicians can repair:

- aluminum components.

- fixing up and strengthening components through welding; some of these components have to go through some serious impacts and have to bare heavy objects.

- fixing matrices

- fixing railroad parts

- repairing auto components such as rims and other aluminum components (the frame, for example)

- repairing trucks (buckets), excavators (cups)

Also, they offer several products. For example, they offer cutting equipment for business or other welding machines, for huseholds

Of course, Rebels Grup has many more products that can be bought. They also sell welding pistols and consumables, welding materials: coated electrodes, welding wire for MIG, MAG or TIG, welding wires and fluxes for sub arc, equipment for oxyfuel or plasma cutting in manual or automatic version - CNC cutting tables, muzzle processing equipment - heat treatment or mechanical cutting, cutting and grinding wheels.

1.4 The Employees, the Management, the Shareholders

As mentioned before, Rebels Grup is a Limited Liability Company, owned by Mr. Ovidiu Guiu and his wife, Mrs. Gina Guiu. They are associates, so they practically own 50% of the company each.

The management team is formed as follows:

a) Mr. Ovidiu Guiu is the General Manager. He supervises almost all activities that take place in the firm. Also, since he has graduated the TCM Faculty, he offers special attention to the technical aspect of the business (machinery, equipment, maintainance)

b) Mrs Gina Guiu is the Financial Manager. She has graduated the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.

c) Mrs. Rodica Costache is Marketing Manager. She has been with the company since 2000 and also graduated the Academy of Economic Studies.

d) Mr. George Radu is Sales Director. He has been in the company since 2000 and graduated the Faculty of Finance in Brasov.

Currently, the company has 25 employees. This is due to the fact that the processes are beginning to get mechanized, so there is no need for the human intervention. Because of the tendecy for improving and modernization, the company has in plan for the future years the acquisition of high-end devices and machines.
